This in-depth one-day instructional coaching programme is designed for new and experienced coaches who want to sharpen their skills, deepen their understanding of effective coaching, and increase the impact of feedback within their school or trust.

Throughout the day, participants explore the research underpinning instructional coaching, observe effective and ineffective coaching models, practise key coaching conversations, and receive tailored feedback to refine their approach. The training blends theory, modelling, rehearsal and expert guidance to ensure every participant leaves with the tools and confidence needed to coach successfully.

Delegates also have the option to continue their learning through Steplab’s Coaching Skills Builder Programme, which provides structured follow-up modules, observation cycles and a live webinar to help embed improvements in practice.

  • If you choose to take part in our follow-up Coaching Skills Builder Programme, you'll be supported to complete a series of quick and practical study modules, alongside cycles of observation and feedback, on Steplab. You'll also attend a live webinar to help embed the changes to your coaching practice
