Red Kite Connect - The superpower of collaboration

Red Kite Connect - The superpower of collaboration

Red Kite Education has a track record of collaborating with schools and education organisations to provide a range of developmental opportunities for teachers and leaders from the very beginning of their careers and at each stage thereafter. “Everything we do is about supporting schools by enabling teachers and leaders to access high quality professional development but we can’t do this alone - collaboration is our superpower!” says Sara Davidson, Director of Red Kite Education,  “we wanted to build on everything we do across the Red Kite Education team to take this one step further, so we are really pleased to announce a new strand of our work, Red Kite Connect: it will do exactly what is says on the tin! We want to connect individuals, schools and organisations across the education system, and beyond, to share knowledge, expertise and their passion for learning.”

Red Kite Education is the team that will be spearheading the Red Kite Connect work.  They already work with a range of partners and over 300 schools across North and West Yorkshire through Red Kite Alliance, Initial Teacher Training, and the Teaching School Hub, and aim to maximise the potential of this network through this new initiative.  “At Red Kite, we pride ourselves on being professionally generous and outward looking,” says Richard Sheriff MBE, CEO of Red Kite Learning Trust, “we seek out like-minded partners and schools, and reap the reciprocal benefits of these connections; we believe that in education, we truly are stronger together. Red Kite Connect will enable the Red Kite Education team to strengthen and broaden the reach of the work they already do in this space.”

Red Kite Connect aims to provide and signpost to innovative and collaborative professional development for all school colleagues by leveraging strong strategic partnerships and drawing on expertise from across the system, creating tailored development opportunities that meet local and regional needs. The approach will focus on sharing best practice and fostering sustained, impactful professional networks across all schools. “We’re really pleased that our partners such as school alliances and networks, universities, and other organisations working in education are supporting Red Kite Connect.  We’ve already worked closely with some of our schools to design and deliver a Metacognition for High Quality Teaching course, and sector partner HFL, to deliver the Sixth Form Advantage Series, and are currently developing other initiatives. We want to hear from anyone who feels they have something to share – we are excited by the unlimited opportunities we have to collaborate and connect!” says Pauline Brown, Director of Research and Programmes.
